CI Outage Witness is free, open-source diagnostic software. Use it as evidence gathering—not as an automated root-cause authority.

License

The software and documentation are provided under the MIT License included in the repository. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute them subject to that license.

Your responsibilities

Use the CLI only with repositories, Actions runs, and runner files you are authorized to access. Review bundles before sharing them, follow your organization’s incident-handling policies, and do not treat a classification as proof of fault by GitHub, a runner operator, or a contributor.

No warranty

The software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. Collection may be incomplete because APIs, networks, logs, or local files are unavailable. Redaction is a safety aid, not a guarantee that every sensitive value will be detected.

Changes

Material changes are recorded in the repository changelog. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. The source repository is the canonical version of these terms.
